Maria Terwiel worked against Hitler's regime in a number of ways. She
joined the "Rote Kapelle", a German resistance group, and Soviet spy
ring. Gestapo made a strike against the group. It is not unlikely, that
Maria - who was never a communist - didn't knew about the
spy-activities, but still Maria was condemned to death.
In the evening of August 5, 1943 at 7.15 p.m. Maria went to the guillotine
inside the prison of Plötzensee, Berlin. She was then 33 years old. Maria
