Vera Salvequart, a young Czech brunette
was arrested by the Germans in 1944. It
was her third prison sentence by the Nazi's,
and this time she was a condemned spy.
She was taken to a concentration camp,
and being a trained nurse and medical
student, she worked in the camp infirmary.
Vera gave a white powder to her patients.
Many of them died from her "treatment".
After the war she was captured and put on
a British trial in Hamburg.
She had fought the Germans, but she had
also killed for them!
Her verdict was awaited with exitement.
Upon receiving her death sentence she was
swaying on her feet for a moment, then she
walked away upright and unassisted.
Vera was hanged by Albert Pierrepoint on
June 26, 1947.
She was then 27 years old.
