Libertas Schulze-Boysen
Back
Libertas Schulze-Boysen's
husband was the leader of
the german resistance group
- and soviet spy ring - "Rote
Kapelle".
Libertas worked in the
German Ministery of
Propaganda. She collected
documents showing German
war crimes and supported
her husbands work.
In the evening of December
22, 1942 at 8.30 p.m.
Libertas Was executed on
the same evening as her
husband inside the prison of
Plötzensee, Berlin. She was
then 29 years old.
For many years it was believed that Libertas was hanged painfully in a short
string. Documentation made available after the German unification shows
Libertas was guillotined being a woman - despite the severity of her crimes!
